Just a little question. I love roleplaying <3 I play full paragraphs, multiple characters, male, female, all sorts of races and I prefer to roleplay 'freestyle', as in I don't like set in stone ideas where everything must happen exactly this way, and I have a pet hate for those ____ x ____ styled ones. I much prefer to agree upon a theme (fantasy, I love fantasy), a time period (happy with any, really) and then just toss our characters in and see what happens as we go along. I'm also pretty flexible with what I roleplay, so just let me know. <3

I love to roleplay. But I'm a tad different in plot-style. I do like _____x______ plots, but not in the super generic sense. ^^ What I don't like is when two very nice people meet and do nice things in a nice place with other nice people. I like drama. -shot- And romance. and fantasy. Dramatic fantasy romance. Yum.

>___<; I used to be on gaia. But then I could only find people who wanted to roleplay ___ x ___ and I would HAVE to play their designated role. No ifs, ands, or buts, and they would play NO other characters, so it's really put me off it these days. Like I said, I'm pretty flexible to it, but I hate it when people tell me exactly what to do, or worse, exactly what my characters must be. Or if they demand I play all the males, while they play none. >_____<;; not fun. Not at all. But I'm with you on the drama~! And the romance~<3 And like I said, fantasy is a BIG win for me~! Perfection in a wonderful shell <3

I'm an RPer from way back (like 10+ years) Have to say I'm on board with Rinai in RP style. I can do pretty much anything and everything, love fantasy, love drama and romance LOL. I usually RP females with my friend but with other people I usually enjoy RPing the boys ^^ I won't RP with anyone that dictates how my characters must be, though I don't mind discussing the direction a plot should go and agreeing on what we want to happen though.

I love to roleplay. I've been roleplaying for around 6 years... I have to say that I agree with you all on the Dramatic Fantasy Romance haha. All my favorite stuff rolled into one. xD I don't really mind the style (so ____x____ is okay with me), but I usually like to play females though males also suit me if it's needed. I don't like those people who dictate what your characters should be like either, those people can be annoying. >.<

I love to roleplay too! And I feel like I haven't done it in like forever, but it's just amazing ^^ I must say that I like things just to kind of hop along on their own accord, but planning's okay too, and necessary sometimes too obviously! [And I also have no idea what ___x___ roleplaying is, if somebody would be a dear and explain it...? :3]

" though I don't mind discussing the direction a plot should go and agreeing on what we want to happen though." This is what I was trying to say xD Also, since most of my RPs involve romance, I usually tell my RP partners about my different characters and their "types". It's less that I like _____x______ and more that I know my characters so well, I know who they will and won't do well with. =P
Starry, ______x_________ is like Hero x villain where you both agree a plot involving a hero and villain would be fun. Or (rolls eyes bit) Master x Slave where you both agree a plot involving master and slave would be fun. <--- generally that particular one is overdone, one-sided, and lame, but eh to each their own xD. Angel x Demon. Pirate x stowaway. It's basically a two word plot devide haha. Generally I think it's okay, as long as both RPers find on to agree on, or maybe they change it up, but I do know why people stay away from it too, because generally these plots are overdone or have a concrete plot that happens generically the same EVERY time.

Ahhhh, ee that makes sense! Hm, then I think that'd be okay but only if everyone agrees :3 I think I'd prefer just an agreed plot, or going with the flow haha, I get confused too easily XD

" because generally these plots are overdone or have a concrete plot that happens generically the same EVERY time." <- This. This times a thousand. And one. It's the whole reason I'm tentative about things like that. Like I've said, I'm usually pretty easy and go with the flow, especially with whatever my partner prefers but when I see that ____ x ___ sort of thing I bristle and instantly go "Oh no...". However if it's like what you meant, Cerine, then I'm more than fine with it since I know my characters well enough as well to know who they'd be better suited to. ^^ The only real thing I have a major nono towards and am completely against is being forced into playing distinct roles, or having no leeway at all for things that can happen in the plot. I've had a few experiences where having one of my characters go off to the markets or such and throwing in a side/throw away character got me yelled at. ^^; Which is not what a roleplay should be about. It should be fun and relatively carefree for all. How do you guys roleplay~? First person? Third person? Full sentences and paragraphs or the "_____ : talkytalkytalky *actionactionaction*" style? ^^

It depends who I'm roleplaying with as to 'how' I do it ^^ Usually a decent mix between the two, but if it's like a live-thing (like on IMing) then definitely "Talk talk talk" *action* "talk" stuff, but if it's through message or on a forum then full text, and usually third person (unless live ) What about yourself Rinai? ^^

Ah! I usually prefer full text, third person wether in IM (though only Skype, as Skype has a large text allowance xD Thankfully!) or in emails/messages/forums, but I also do the "Talk talk talk" *action* "talk" stuff quite often with a few of my major roleplay partners as 'mini-rps' (least that's what we dub them we usually use them for throwing our characters in scenarios outside of the main roleplay for fun and to see how they'd react). So essentially I banter around in both. ^^

I almost always do 1x1 messenger based RPs through AIM or skype. I do multi-sentence/paragraph third person. =) I play male/female. I usually like two have 2 MAIN characters and two main, but a little more side characters, and then mentioned or scarcely played side characters. I don't like RPS where it literally just...two people as nobody else exiiists~.
also, Rinai, you made me cry from happiness because what you call "mini-rp" is my jam. MY JAM. I love to do it, and whe I do, people look at me funny xD

Aaah!!! You roleplay pretty much the same way I do, Cerine!! <3 <3 <3 That's amazing :3 And makes me exceedingly happy! >v<
Haha, wow! They look at you funny? That's weird! It's so much fun, and you can learn so much about your own characters and your partner's characters with it. It can also help form plot ideas for the main roleplay. :3
So it's official. I cannot wait to roleplay with you guys!!
Hugs, cookies and pixie dust~ - Riri xx

I pretty much always RP on Skype as well! Mainly with my friend (who I will try to get him to join the site LOL!). RP's with more than about 5 people tend to get rather annoying and tedious to follow - though I was involved in a turn based system where people posted in order and that made it a hell of a lot easier to keep up with (RPing on forums in Aus time zone- yea I get left out of so much LOL). I think private RP's and public RP's have their different perks. Like, I enjoy private ones because you can say or do anything you want, but public RP's a fun too, because there are usually a lot more characters and different people with different styles. It's hard to get bored. I usually play many different characters in the same RP. My friend and I are currently doing an Egyptian Gods RP, which is interesting and very fun. It is sort of good guys vs bad guys - but the relative terms of 'good' and 'bad' are kind of messed up, so it's like one side fighting another. But we also have characters that are neutrals or have their own agendas, opportunistic and the like. The RP's I do tend to be very 'freeform', in that there is a general sense of a plot, but nothing is really laid out. Stuff happens based on stuff that has happened. We even introduce new characters and side plots and stuff as time goes by, which usually makes the RP very in depth and intricate with deep characters and a catchy story XD
I'm really looking forward to RPing with you guys, it will be a lot of fun I bet :3
