I'm always a big fan of Lycanthrope or Lycan for alternate names for wolves - though it may be too common. I'm horrible at coming up with names though ha ha. Lupin or Lupis might be another alright one.
I like rolling with latin names for things, soo....
How about 'Callidus' for the fox. Foxes are known for their cunning, and 'Callidus' is 'cunning' in Latin. I think it's a nice name.
In Latin 'swift' or 'fast' is 'Velox'. That could be a good name for the Horse.
Bear could be 'Robus' which means 'strength though solidarity and robustness' in Latin.
Dragon hmm... could be 'Scalis' ('scaled'), 'Ignis Halitus' ('fire breath'), 'Volans Lacerta' (flying lizard)...
Tiger might be 'Formosa' as in 'beautiful' or 'of fine appearance'...
Who knows if ya wanna take the Latin naming path though, a lot of people do it.

Yeah, the latin names are definitely cool, but also probably pretty common. I'm actually on another site that uses "Velox" for their horses. ^^;

I don't know what kind of things you're thinking of but maybe names such as.... Wolf~ The 'Ulva' (it's the Inuit name for 'wolf') Fox~ I like Medusa's idea for 'Callidus' Horse~ The 'Hari' (Means "brown, yellow, tawny" in Sanskrit, and by extension "monkey, horse, lion". <-I actually don't understand what this means, I just searched for 'horse' on Behindthename and really liked this one ^^ Deer~ BAMBI! XD Not really! :3 'Achlis' ? It was a creature listed in Roman Mythology that supposedly resembled an elk-deer mix (they're pretty similar anyway I guess) But the name sounds quite pretty ^^ I also like Medusa's ideas for the Dragon (I like the 'Scalis' best ^^) and the Tiger 'Formosa'

Keep the ideas coming! I know Sandfeather had a list of names too I'd like to see posted here. I'm liking a lot of them so far!

As terribly common as it may be I LOVE Ursa/Ursin/Ursus things of that ilk, for bears! <3 It might be a neat idea to name something like the wolf, after the site, or maybe the site was named after it lol Another approach could be tying in the history (although I may be getting the wrong idea since I have so little information on that at the moment) For instance maybe the progress side has nicknames for different nature species like "Red Coats" for foxes or "Manes" for lions, then everything would have a cohesive theme, and the names, while not out and out telling you what species it is, would certainly lend themselves to it. I like the idea of all the animals adhering to some sort of theme for their naming, but until next week I'm a tad useless for ideas sorry! All I got on my brain is incoming kitten

According to google translate the Telugu for Fire is అగ్ని or Agni which could be a pretty cool name for dragons and horse is గుర్రము or Gurramu.
In basque apparently azeria is Fox which sounds quite fun.
Can't really think of names for the others at the moment... I'll be back.

If Ursa doesn't work for bear I like Misha (I think we could modify it to "Mishka". It's a russian term for bear (with familiarity) Volk is "Wolf" in Russian. Koshka is Cat in Russian. Olein is Russian for deer (Obviously all the Russian terms are phonetic)
