It's been a bit quiet around here lately, and I know I've been busy, so maybe you have too? I wanna know what you guys have been up to that's dragged you away from the site for a bit! C'mon, let's share some stories!
I just found out that I got a 90% on one of my exams! I'm so happy! I wasn't expecting to do that well. I also got an 80% on my math exam, and that was curved to maybe an 86% or so. I had a chem exam I got a 55% on (I'm terrible at chem), but I can drop one exam, and I'll be sure to study plenty for the final.
How was your Thanksgiving? Are you still full? What did you eat? We had turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. It was great. And I managed not to eat so much that I thought my stomach was going to burst! That's quite a feat for me.
Hehe it's okay ^^ We shall probably (ahem, *definitely*) feast over christmas and boxing day and probably all the way up to the end of new year's day :') (Omg realisation- ITS NEARLY 2014 O.O) Ha, SAT's are 100% stupid. I must say I definitely enjoyed sitting in the same room for four hours straight answering stupid questions that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. NAWT. It says on my breakdown that I didn't answer 2 of the maths questions though o.o I'm pretty certain that I did! What college did you go to? I've applied to UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara aaaand am applying to Humboldt State and San Diego State ^^; And then I've applied for 5 uni's over here (UK ) just to be safe! <3 What did you study too? (I'm so nosy )
I'm at the best university in the whole world - Purdue! <3 It's close to home, so I feel really lucky about that. My roommate came across the ocean from India, and it seems you plan on traveling quite a ways yourself! What universities in the UK have you applied for? I probably won't know them, but I'm curious. xD
I'm studying Wildlife. I'd love to study slime molds. There's one kind that's frighteningly intelligent.
That sucks that it says you didn't answer two questions. D: Meany SAT's. >_>
Yes. Feast! Feast until all thoughts of the SAT are far away!
... Never heard of it! :3 (I'm gonna go google it ) Aww, see I want to move away. (Far, far away!) I just want a completely fresh start where I don't actually run the risk of turning around and seeing somebody I know. And our town isn't even that small, I just really don't like the people I guess haha :3 I've applied to: Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham, Bangor and Newcastle (just in case I decide to stay at home/something happens to my Mam/Nanna/etc. before I have to decide). They're generally very good universities, and I particularly wouldn't mind going to the first two, Nottingham was going to be my main 'insurance' choice but then they've offered me the same grades as Sheffield and Manchester have for entry, so never mind. Therefore, Bangor is my insurance choice with probably Manchester (fingers crossed...) as my main! Though, America is above ANY UK's Oooo! I've applied for Zoology! (or "Biological Sciences-Zoology" for UC Davis) I'm pretty excited about it tbh haha :3 The SAT's are far enough away for me, it's not like I can change it now anyway hahaha! :3
Finals week at my university... It's crazy. But I'm a senior and I will have one semester left after this! I also don't have internet when I visit my house, which has been a big pain in the butt. Overall I've just been very stressed out!
Sorry I haven't been around! I've also been busy with finals. One left to go! I think I did well on my other three. The last one is Chemistry - the one I'm really worried about. Dx I'm supposed to be studying, but I'm procrastinating. xD
(e) I just looked over a practice final exam from a previous year and it wasn't too hard! It was quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. I'm still going to study, obviously, but I'm feeling better now.
How often do you guys have finals? Like at the end of each semester or just ever year or what? *places hot chocolate and cookies on the table* <- Destress material
The government here recently scrapped any november and January exams, so now we have to take a whole load of them June. So in June I'm gonna have... 2 Biologys, 2 Chemistrys, 3 core maths, 3 further maths, one maths resit and one Chemistry resit so... 12 exams. WOOP. *dies* But school are giving us mock- exams in January to make up for the lost ones, *curses* so I should really start revising considering we're half way through December...
How can they give you so many tests and expect you to survive?! That sounds awful... Awful! D: Why did they need to scrap them in the first place?
Each class lasts a semester, so there are finals twice a year. Each class also has about three midterms, and often you can drop one. The finals are usually twice as long as the midterms, but mine haven't been too bad. One more, and then I can go home *cries* I can't wait T_T
*grabs cookies* Thank you!! I could really use some comfort food right now. xD
(e) I think I passed all of my classes! I'm not certain about chemistry, but I think I'll have a C in it, which is what I need to move on. *cries* I hope so so much! I'm also just glad it's over, yet I also can't believe half a year has gone by so quickly. It feels as though just yesterday I was moving in. Now I'm going back home for a whole month of vacation! I'm so happy. I'm so... Is there even a word? xD
I. Know. Right. *dies* I don't even know, like if they still did them then I'd have around 1 Chemistry, 1 Biology and 2 maths to do in January and the rest to do in Summer which would probably be soooo much better. I think the government just went all "You know what we should do? We should make the 16-18 year old's lives a living hell and scrap ALL of the non-summer exams so they can't resit without redoing the whole year." (Thanks mr. government...)
How long is a semester? (Typically...?) Hahaha awww bless! Go and buy some pop tarts- they solve everything! And hey, Chemistry sucks so as long as you can continue then don't worry about it You'll have done great though, don't worry ^^
